These are the people who help to make sure our business is running smoothly from behind the scenes – that’s everyone in HR, Finance, Marketing and many more. While we’re all very focused and professional about what we do, it's a refreshingly informal environment. 'Unstuffy' is the word people most often use to describe it. We have an open door policy and managers across the business are always keen to hear new ideas, whatever your role! And we're happy for people to speak up and say what they really think (which means our people tend to be pretty happy too).

HR

People are the key part of our business and our HR team supports managers in making Comet a great place to work. A big part of their role is in helping to spot and develop talent so we are always moving our business forward. Always commercial in their outlook, our HR team work in partnership with other areas of the business to offer practical solutions and ideas.

Finance

Comet finance is split between two locations. The Rickmansworth team helps business functions by offering commercial analysis. They also contribute to key projects to ensure that they add real value as well as deliver great customer service. The teams in Hull are responsible for producing accounts and running the financial administration of the business.

Information Systems

We have around 100 colleagues in Information Systems. Some of them are technical experts. The others act as internal account managers. They work together on IT solutions that benefit customers as well as the business.

Marketing

We enjoy a pretty substantial marketing budget at Comet. Our marketing professionals use it to attract more people to our stores and encourage them to buy some of the great products we have. This team have also been key in building the Comet brand and bringing it alive for our customers in store.

Commercial

Put simply, our commercial teams find great products and work out how they should be sold. They liaise closely with suppliers, as well as other internal teams.

Supply Chain

We have around 40 supply chain professionals ensuring we get the right goods to the right places at the right time. As well as working closely with other Comet business areas, they've forged award-winning strategic partnerships with Excel and Wincanton Logistics.

E-Comet

Our E-Comet team have helped make comet.co.uk the UK's leading electrical retailing site. Their expertise lies in creating the kind of online experience that keeps customers coming back for more.
