We started life back in 1933, charging batteries for wireless sets. Now we’re the UK’s second largest electrical retailer.
This growth first began in 1968, when we pioneered out-of-town electrical retailing – an approach that proved so popular we continued to do it for 16 years before being bought out by Kingfisher Plc in 1984. A state-of-the-art call centre, 'Destination Store' launch and brand new website later, we de-merged from Kingfisher and formed KESA Electrical Plc (Europe’s third largest electrical group operating over nine European countries).
With our new branding established in 2005, we’ve gone from strength to strength. We established a new customer support centre, opened more stores, and even developed a second non-Comet branded website too.
It leaves us in a very strong position – with 250 stores, a Head Office in Rickmansworth, our Business Centre in Hull, an award-winning website, 14 Service Centres, 12 Home Delivery Platforms, 2 Contact Centres and 4 Distributions Centres. All relying on our 10,000 colleagues to keep them running smoothly.
